Volunteer "guinea pigs" help in battle against common cold. Aiding research into the common cold at Harvard Hospital, Wiltshire. the work began in 1946 and since then over 1500 visits have been paid, about 50/50 between male and female, and they spend 10 days there in an attempt to catch cold to help the researchers. Many do not! They live in pairs in cream and green painted chalets, cut off from the world except for a telephone.
