London's ever-changing skyline . Hardly a day goes by , it seems without some new buildings , usually a modern-styled office block , or a block of flats , being completed to make its mark on London's rapidly changing skyline. The trend to 'build high' and its effects on the capital's character is clearly seen in this panoramic view taken from St Paul's , looking down St Martin-le-Grand. Of the larger older buildings the General Post Office in King Edward Street and almost in the shadow of St Paul's Dome , is the most prominent . But most impressive are the many tall buildings stretching as far as the horizon , which have mushroomed into existence over the past few years . 11th January 1961
