At Le Cercle des Ambassadeurs , in London's Hamilton Place the voices of the French imported croupiers called over the baize tables in rehearsal for the opening of London's first gambling salon . The club , the biggest in London , is part of the Ambassadors Club , run by Mr John Mills , an ex-Polish Army Officer , who started the club twenty years ago .
