British Royal Navy . HM Submarine E8 1914 During World War I she was part of the British submarine flotilla in the Baltic . On 23 October 1915 , she sunk the German armoured cruiser , Prinz Adalbert . As the result of this action the submarine's commander , Commander Francis Goodhart , was awarded the Cross of St. George by Tsar Nicholas II .
