The Casement diaries , which the British Home Office hs made available at the Public Record Office in London for inspection by persons with special authorisation . The diaries had formerly been kept secret by the Home Office since Sir Roger Casement was hanged for treason in 1916 , and through the years there has been controvesy over their authenticity . The documents consist of two desk diaries , another of octavo size , a black ledger and a notebook . 13 August 1959
