Indonesian coup trial begins Djakarta, Indonesia ; Indonesian Communist Party leader , Njono , is escorted by army guards as he arrived at a special military court here , 14 February , to face charges that in August and September of last year he attended meetings of the party's Central Committee in Djakarta for the purpose of overthrowing the government of President Sukarno. According to a Djakarta Radio broadcast, the charges against him included " a deliberate attempt at plotting to overthrow the legal government by force " in the unsuccessful coup on 1st October . 17 February 1966
