Welsh international John Charles, who was once the idol of Italian football fans. During the morning, he serves behind the counter at his sports shop in Cardiff (in background) and the customer is always right as far as big John is concerned. Then he catches the train or motors 50-miles over the Welsh border to manage Southern league team, Hereford United. Now aged 37, Charles intends to carry on playing non-league football for another year. During two and a half years with Hereford Utd, he has scored over 60 goals. 11th November 1968
