A remarkable attempted fraud which was unveiled by Mr Dunninger is contained in the photograph showing the trickery of double exposure. Some years ago Mr Dunninger accepted the challenge of a noted medium that he, the medium, would enter the house of a departed person and read a book opposite the chair once occuped by the dead man. While reading the book the medium supposedly produced the departed spirit in the chair along side of Dunninger and showed the photo to Dunninger as proof of the medium's ability to not only produce the spirit but actually photograph it along side of him. Mr Dunninger later clearly proves that the whole thing was simply a clever bit of faking the negative by the photographer of the medium but all means have been used to silence Dunninger in his campaign of exposing phony mediums.
