Old people, young people gather in search of good luck - at the wishing well on Culloden, Inverness-shire, scene of one of the bloodiest battles in these islands' history. Each year in the month of May, many visitors trek to the well, drop in a coin, drink the water, and then hang a clout (cloth) on nearby trees to ensure good luck for the rest of the year.
