This historic rendezvous 185 miles up in space on Wednesday is captured in this remarkable picture released last night. The picture is of Gemini VII taken from Gemini VI by Major Thomas Stafford with a Hasselblad camera, equipped with an 80mm lens and using 70mm Kodak colour film. The capsules closed to within six feet of each other. The white stern section containing the rendezvous radar, vital auxiliary electronic systems, radio and fuel cells, and dark compartment for the crew, can be clearly seen. Shortly before re-entry into the atmosphere, the two sections separate, with the equipment remaining in space and only the crew compartment returning - 18th December 1965
