Mr William Summers, a 29-year-old attendant at the grosvenor Petrol Station in Grosvenor Road, SW London, was attacked by two men who knocked him over the head with an iron bar and attempted to escape with the takings. Mr Summers shouted for help and struggled to the telephone to call the police. The men then ran away empty-handed. Mr Summers received about eight head wounds which had to be treated at Westminster Hospital, and a black eye. Photo shows Mr William Summers, his head swathed in bandages, this morning (Saturday).
