A hundred firemen with twenty engines were called to fight a serious blaze at St David's Church in Westbourne Road Islington - by the time the firemen arrived the roof was already a mass of flames and 280 feet water towers were hurriedly run up - shortly afterwards the roof collapsed - children in a nearby school left their classrooms and marched into the street - photo shows the Rev R Nust (Vicar of the Church for 30 years) surveying the damage inside February 11th 1935
