For the first time in the history of aviation lightning has caused the death of occupants of a flying aeroplane - this was established at the inquiry into the disaster to the famous Dutch Flying Hotel which crashed into the desert 270 miles from Bagdad - medical examination of the bodies of the seven victims of the crash has shown that all were killed by lightning - the wreckage of the plane was found by Royal Airforce pilot Flight Lieutenant Stone - photo shows the wreckage of the KLM air liner December 28th 1934
