The most popular sport in the Soviet Union is parachute jumping - hundreds of young workers in no way connected with aviation are clamouring for tuition at the State instruction centre and girls are just as enthusiastic as the young men - a parachute jumping school has been established at the Tushino Aerodrome near Moscow and so heavy is the demand that it is frequently possible to see dozens of young parachutists floating from the sky together - a parachutist leaping from a place over Moscow - a number of others already well on their way to earth can be seen below him December 4th 1934
