Girls of the voluntary labour camp near Munich march to their work every day with spades carried rifle-fashion on their shoulders and wearing gas-masks - with their steel-helmets and military marching formation the girls can quite easily be taken for men - and it is to take the place of men in time of war that the girls are being trained - they are accustoming themselves to hard manual labour under conditions likely to accompany an air raid or the constant threat of an air raid - photo shows the gas-masked girls of the Munich labour camp carrying an 'injured' comrade November 22nd 1934
