One of the more serious difficulties encountered by model aeroplane makers - that of assembling a petrol engine suitable fo drive their models - has been overcome by Wallace McDowell a model aeroplane builder of Los Angeles in California - McDowell has completed a small scale plane four feet in length with a wing spread of five feet fitted with a petrol motor which propels the model at a speed of 25 miles an hour for twelve minutes - the model weighs 3lbs 4ozs - photo shows Wallace McDowell making adjustments to his model before a practise flight November 17th 1934
