Jean Turner ( aged 12 ) and Billy Twine ( aged 11 ) are to broadcast an appeal on Sunday evening on behalf of the Alexandre Orphanage at Haverstock Hill in London where they are scholars - the appeal will be in The Week's Good Cause feature and will be listened to by 370 children at the orphanage as well as people in every corner of Britain - Joan comes from Gosforth near Newcastle and Billy comes from Wiltshire - the children at the orphanage have asked if they can buy new valves for their set to listen to the talk - photo shows Joan Turner and Billy Twine testing out the wireless set at the Orphanage November 16th 1934
