The latest German battleship Admiral Scheer was put into service under the command of Captain Horsehall - the new vessel replaces the 30 year old Hessan - when the crew of the Hessen changed over to the Admiral Scheer they received a memo from Chancellor Hitler in which he said that the name of Admiral Scheer was closely linked with the glorious victory of Skager Rack ( Jutland ) and he expected them to live up to that tradition - photo shows the scene aboard the Admiral Scheer ( in foreground ) after the changeover - in the background is the Hesson November 14th 1934
