Every day a motor boat goes out at Tilbury and West India Docks moors alongside one of the ships discharging cargo and a bundle of books and magazines is passed to the crew - the books are distributed by St Andrew's Waterside Mission to the crews of British ships that use the docks and they are passed from ship to ship on the seven seas whiling away many a dull hour for the crews - an average of three to four tons of reading matter is distributed annually by the Mission of which Dr Curzon the Bishop of Stepney is Chairman - photo shows Rev C S Hickin ( in trilby hat ) of St John's in the Isle of Dogs going aboard a ship in the West India Dock.
