To commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of General Gordon's death at Khartoum members of the Council and of the staff of the Shaftesbury Society as well as representatives of the Gravesend Ragged School where the General was a notable worker laid a wreath on the General Gordon statue in trafalgar Square in London - photo shows Mr Henry E Montague ( Chairman of the Shaftesbury Society ) laying the wreath January 26th 1935
