While passengers slept in the famous Blue Train on the journey from the Riviera to Paris two men were found shot dead in a compartment - officials sealed the carriage after a short examination and the train continued the journey to Paris - the shot men were Mr Rene Betlamini and Mr Alibert and both are understood to be dealers at the covered markets in the Paris district - an examination of the bodies in Paris has led officials to believe that Betlamini was probably shot while asleep and that Alibert by whose side a revolver was found committed suicide - it is believed that the shooting took place near Vintimille shortly after the train left the Riviera - photo shows police officials removing the bodies of the two men from the compartment of the train at the Gare de Lyon in Paris September 27th 1934
