Mr P K Gosh of Calcutta ( who has already achieved a reputation for endurance swimming ) has set a new world record by swimming in Cornwallis Tank in Madras for twenty-four hours with both his hands handcuffed - his performance was watched by a crowd of twenty thousand people - Mr P K Ghosh showing his manacled hands after completing his twenty-four hours' swim April 17th 1934
