A Cricklewood London factory is turning out 3,000 tennis racquets a week by a new process of multiple construction to meet the demand for the coming season - in the new process sheets of veneer are pressed in blocks of seven-ply cross grain - the racquets made by this means are better balanced and as they cannot warp do not require a press - photo shows one of the pressed blocks from which the racquets are made and the finished racquet January 11th 1934
