The funeral of Nicolai Lenin. The five men carrying the casket are identified by number: 1= Michael Kalinin, 2 = Nicolai Bukharin, 3 = Gregory Zinoviev, 4 = Michael Tomsky and 5 Leo Kameneff . All except Kalinin , who served as a Communist party figurehead until his death , were purged in the 1930's . ( Tomsky commited suicide , the others were executed ) . Two men not identified by number subsequently rose to greater heights .
