Caughoo a 100-1 Irish unknown owned by Mr J.J. McDowell, ridden by E.Dempsey, won the Grand National at Aintree this afternoon from " Lough Conn" second, and "Kami" third. The winner cost only 50 pounds. The finish Caughoo passing the post to win the Grand National at Aintree. 29th March, 1947
