Post war China. Acting upon Chairman Mao's instructions, the Northeast Field Army under the personal command of Comrade Lin Piao, swept south immediately after it liberated the whole northeast China. It joined forces with the North Field Army of the P.L.A. to encircle and wipe out the Kuomintang bandits' troops in northern China. Here shows the Northeast Field Army receive a warm welcome from the local people when passing throught the Great Wall at Shanhaikuan.
