The vicar goes ghost laying at number 13 - The residents at No 13 Highworth Road in Bristol, Mr and Mrs William Baber and their six year old daughter Heather, have been troubled by the activities of a ghost, said to be a former occupant. They called in the Church of England vicar, Reverend Francis Maddock, to assist. Last night he arrived with two helpers to perform the exorcising service. He went from room to room, praying in each. The house was heavily curtained during the service and police were on guard outside where crowds of young people, watchers and pressmen had gathered hoping to see the ghost laid. - Picture shows some of the crowd which gathered outside No 13 Highworth Road while the Reverend Francis Maddock prayed inside. - 25th January 1950
