Governor Spiro Theodore Agnew, of Maryland, and Mr Richard M Nixon, Vice Presidential candiates, respectively, of the Republican Party, accept the Cheers of Delegates and Spectators at the Fifth and Final session of the Republican National Convention last night. The Two Men took the Rostrum together after both made their acceptance speeches. The nomination of Agnew as Mr Nixon's running mate came as a complete surprise. 9 August 1968
