This is "Mod" James Brunton, aged 17. One of the dozens of Mods and Rockers fined heavily at Margate after last weekend's rioting. He was fined ?5 and given two weeks in which to scrape up the money. So far, he has managed to borrow ?0 from friends and hopes to be able to save the remainder by the deadline. In the meantime, he will have to repay his loans at the rate of ? a week. But, Brunton, a labourer and trainee bricklayer of Queen's Terrace, Islworth, Middlesex, says he earns about ?2 a week. The picture shows him outside his parents home, after he said: "I could've spent two week on the Riviera with that money.
