Miss Marlene McDonald, 20, a sales girl of the Lady Jane Boutique, Carnaby Street, London, models what looks like becoming the latest mini - skirt craze. She wears a mini - skirt embellished with a coat - of - arms. Girls who buy skirts at the boutique, leave their name and a research team, headed by Mr R. Macaulay Mowlem of Croydon, looks up the arms which they say go with the name and send a picture of it to the shop. They are then screen-printed on the skirt. Boutique owner, Mr Harry Fox, said: "The researchers claim that 98 per cent of the population has coats of arms". No doubt soon they will be worn just ladies legs. 9 December 1968
