April 1953 - Preparations being made for Coronation Day The building of the annexe outside the Abbey and the stands across the road changes the familiar scene in Westminster. The Annexe, built around a steel tubular framework, will serve as an assembly room for the Coronation procession and also as a robing and retiring room for participants in the cermony in the Abbey on June 2nd.
