South African Cricketers at Waterloo Station - Robert James Crisp (born 28 May 1911 in Calcutta - now Kolkata, India, died 3 March 1994 in Colchester, England) was a South African cricketer who played in 9 Tests from 1935 to 1936. He was also a tanker during World War Two, serving in 3 RTR (Royal Tank Regiment) later writing two books documenting his experiences that became very famous; "The Gods Were Neutral" and"Brazen Chariots".
