Ferdinand Fabre (1827-98): attempted the priesthood but became writer, novelist, mixing lots of Occitan vocabulary with French in his works - an experimental mixture of Cevenol patois and French - (Les Courbezon 1861, Mon oncle C幨estin 1881, Toussaint Galabru 1887). Wrote a lot about the daily business of country priests in the Cevennes. Ferdinand Fabre died five from pneumonia days before his election to the Acad幦ie Fran蓷ise. ?007 TopFoto
