London: The brightly gleaming ship's bell was the font when ten month old Richard Falcon Scott, grandson of famed Scott of the Antarctic, was christened aboard the "Discovery", on which the late Richard Falcon Scott sailed on his voyage of exploration to the Antarctic. The infant lies in the arms of his mother, and writer Mr Peter Scott, the child's father On the right is Mrs S.T. Johnson, one of the godparents. Also in the picture are Canon Thomas of Slimbridge, Gloucester, where the Scott's live, and Canon Brown (Foreground), precentor of Southwark Cathedral, who officiated. In the background is Mrs Scott's brother, Mr E. Talbot-Ponsonby, one of the godparents, Mr and Mrs Scott have two other children, but Richard is the first son. 17 April 1955
