Sir Thomas Lipton (10 May 1850 - 2 October 1931), as seen in Vanity Fair on 19th September 1901, was one of Glasgow most famous and successful sons, a Scotsman of Ulster-Scots parentage and a self-made man. From humble origins he was to become world famous as a tea merchant and a yachtsman. He created the famous Lipton tea brand and was the most persistent challenger in the history of the America's Cup. 固opFoto
