Greenham Common, Nr Newbury, Berks: The American flag which has flown beside the colours of the Royal Air Force at Greenham Common, Berkshire for the past 13 years is pictured being lowered today for the last time. The Ceremonies marking the end of 13 years of operations by the U.S. Air Force and its Strategic Command, took less than five minutes for the colourful Air Police Honour Guard to lower the "Star and Stripes". Only a lone bugle first playing "Retreat" and the "To The Colours" broke the silence as the flag was lowered by two Air Policemen. 30 June 1964
