Capital letter T - initialt letter taken from a manuscript collection of Saints' Lives, written in the 12th century (MS Arundel No 91). The figures represent incidents in the legend of St Caesarius. At the top of the letter we see first, the victim offering up the sacrifice, and then riding over the precipice, while St Caesarius is looking on with pity. To the right, Caesarius appears to be addressing the pagans. The figures in the lower part of the stem of the letter probably represent Caesarius before Leontius. At the bottom, the men of Luxurius are throwing the two Christians into the sea, both enclosed in one sack.
