The second half of the last night of the Proms was conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent, and here he leads the BBC Symphony orchestra and the 7,500 strong audience in Land of Hope And Glory, part of the March Pomp And Circumstance No 1 in D by Elgar. Not only the Promenaders but the whole audience rise to their feet to sing this patriotic British song, to mark which, some Promenaders in the front row hold aloft a Union Jack.
