396 British ex-servicemen and their families - all migrants - received a tremendous welcome when they arrived at Sydney, Australia, in the Somersetshire recently. The y were the first to come out to Australia under the group nomination scheme arranged by the Returned Servicemen's League of Australia, and there were more than 100 children on board. The picture shows two pretty migtants - Brenda (left) and Noreen Sheehan, from Chichester Road, Kilburn, London, waving flags from the boat as it docked at Sydney. With their parents Mr and Mrs James Sheehan, they are to settle at Heberton, North Queensland. 12th October 1949
