London. Famed actor, ballet dancer and choreographer, Australia's Robert Helpmann (2nd right) is shown in a new role as a one-handed pianist, during this morning's rehearsal of the Australian Ballet Company at a London rehearsal theatre. Mr Helpmann is one of the artistic directors of the company and is shown with some of its members, from left to right, Walter Boure, Kathleen Gorman, Bryan Lawrence and extreme right, Kathleen Geldard. The 53 strong ballet company who have been appearing in the Lebanon and Nice, Southern France, are here to take part in the Commonwealth Arts Festival. Aftger making a provincial tour of the UK they will return to London for appearances at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, followed by a European Tour. They are scheduled to return to Australia early in 1966.
