Mr Ronald Webster (right) the self-proclaimed President of 'independent' Anguilla, British West Indies, arrives at Kennedy Airport, late March 22nd and is met by Jeremiah Gumbs (left), an oil dealer from Perth Amboy, NJ, whom Webster has delegated as Anguilla's representative Before the United Nations. Webster, arriving here from the Caribbean, said that he fled his country in fear of arrest by British occupation forces. Singing 'we shall overcome' 50 angry Anguillans yesterday paraded outside United Nations headquaters in New York in protest against the British landing on the tiny island. March 23rd 1969.
