Mountbatten Meets V.C.s at Cinema, 24th September 1964. Admiral of the Fleet, the Earl Mountbatten of Burma, Chief of the Defence Staff (extreme right) was the Guest of Honour at the world premiere of "Guns at Batasi" at London's Carlton Cinema, where he met with three other distinguished guests who are holders of the Victoria Cross. They are left to right, ex-Corporal Harry Nicholls of Camden Town, London, who won the medal in 1940 with the Grenadier Guards; ex-Sgt. Stanley Hollis who earned his V.C. on the Normandy beeches during World War II whilst serving with the 6th Battalion, the Green Howards and ex-Sgt. James Molyneux (74), who won his medal during the first World War. The latter travelled from his St Helens, Lancashire, home for the occasion. Hollis also travelled from Middlesborough, Yorkshire. The Premiere aids the Army Benevolent Fund.
