Murder Suspect Takes "Lie Detector" Test, 23rd January 1947. Robert Manley, known as "Red", who had been an Associate of the muredered "Black Dahlia", Elizabeth Short, was given a lie detector test at Los Angeles, California, USA. The test proved inconclusive and Manley was booked on suspicion of murder. The body of Miss Short was found in a Los Angeles Lot.
