The Needles, Isle of Wight A lighthouse was biult at the needles, on th e cliff, at th esame time as the one at st. Catherines point, 1780. the present one, however is situated on the most westerly rock on the Isle of Wight. the tower is built of granite and has one blcak band around it. The light, which gives a double occulting flash every 20 secounds, has white, green and red arcs. The horn gives a blast of five secounds duration every 15 secounds.
