Geoffrey Foster a worker in London's Royal Mint feeds discs of gold into a machine which churns out sovereigns. The Royal Mint started making sovereigns again but bearing the date that they were last made for issue in 1917 though some were struck in 1925. The gold came from the Bank of England where the sovereigns went straight back after being created. 19th December 1951
