With one of London's familiar fogs to welcome them, the first batch of the British prisoners released by General Franco arrived at Victoria station on the return home from Spain. Many of the men were captured on the Aragon and Belchite fronts. The men arrived in London only a few days after the withdrawal of some of Mussolini's "volunteers". Photo shows: John Croll being welcomed on his arrival at Victoria. 25 October 1938
