Riding to work in his car, Mayor Fiorello La Guardia of New York carried on a friendly chat with Lord Mayor of London, Sir Frank Bowater, who was speaking from his State coach outside the Mansion House. The two Chief Citizens discussed the weather, airports and the marvel of their carrying on such a conversation. Radio officials in New York said it was the first time a trans Atlantic conversation had been carried on by two persons in moving vehicles.
