Choking police and bystanders staggering amid clouds of 'tear'gas and a gas mask bandit dashing through a cordon to make his escape after blowing up a bank vault to steal valuable jewels, all this is in the peaceful countryside of Shepperton, only a few miles from London. The 'tear' gas actually consisted of clouds of harmless but acrid smoke, the 'bank' was a film set, and the policeman were actors appearing in the new Wainwright Production Film 'Kate Plus Ten' based on the Edgar Wallace story.
