Maurice Chevalier, the film and stage actor (right) and Harry Pilcer, former American dancer and partner of the late Gaby Deslys, stealing kisses from two pretty Catherinettes in Paris during the St Catherine's Day celebrations. Paris 'midinettes' from every dressmaking house in the city, who had reached the aged 25 and were still unmarried, celebrated the Festival of St Catherine, the patron saint, by donning the traditional bonnet and making merry until the small hours of the morning. 26November 1937
