Film actress goes to court for opening of her libel action. Miss Miki Hood, film actress, whose portrait is well known in advertisements, went to the law courts for the opening of the action in which she is claiming damages for alleged libel and infringement of copyright of a Hollywood photograph of herself. The defendants are WH Smith and son, Ltd, who deny the allegations. The suit is down for hearing before the Lord Chief Justice and a special jury in the King's bench division. Sir Patrick Hastings, KC has been briefed for Miss Hood, and Sir Stafford Cripps KC for the defendants. Photo shows, Miss Miki Hood leaving her home in St Johns Wood for court. 1 November 1937
